On October 3, Valve announced that TI10 will not have a live audience due to health concerns, and that all ticket purchases will be fully refunded.
Citing the rising COVID-19 case numbers in Romania, as well as concern for the safety of the players, staff, and talents, it will be the first Dota 2 International without a live audience.

Quincy Crew, one of the three teams from North America that qualified through the DPC, took the chance to thank fans for their support during this difficult time.
Team Undying, another team from North America, wanted to ensure that their fans were aware of this change so they can adjust their plans on time.
PSG.LGD, one of the strongest teams attending the tournament, reminded everyone to stay safe. In fact, PSG.LGD has gone through great lengths to ensure their player’s safety, such as refusing to use the hotel’s air conditioning.
Ted “PyrionFlax” Forsyth, one of the hosts for TI10, took this as a challenge to put on the best show possible for the fans.
Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner, the owner of team Arkosh, and a host for TI10 lamented at the loss of a crowd this year, which only fuels his fire to hype up the event more.
