Southeast Asian Dota 2 legend Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung is set to make a return to competition in his home region as he has joined forces with Filipino player Ryan “Raging-_-Potato” Jay Qui in a new stack.
The two registered to play the rest of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season on January 31 with Team IO, which was first formed in mid-January by their fellow SEA stalwarts Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin, Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen, and Benhur “Nayeon” Lawis.
Despite his standing as a longtime veteran with one of the most decorated careers in the scene — with notable stints in the legendary Team DK squad in 2013 and Fnatic from 2015 to 2017 — Mushi’s recent exploits have been underwhelming.

He started the 2018-2019 DPC season with Tigers, but stayed with them for less than a month before leaving for China to join Team Aster. Mushi left the team in April and joined Geek Fam, but failed to qualify for The International 2019 (TI9) — only making it to the tournament as a coach for Mineski.
Mushi joined Keen Gaming to start the 2019-2020 DPC season, but has been inactive since October last year.
Raging-_-Potato was part of the Mineski roster that Mushi coached in TI9, finishing in 9th-12th place. He left the team shortly after the tournament and has since been inactive before recently joining his former coach.
Mushi, Raging-_-Potato, and the rest of Team IO are expected to participate in the Open Qualifiers of the ESL One Los Angeles Major on February 7-8.
