Fresh off the controversy between Elephant and Four Angry Men (4AM) which resulted in the end of their Chinese Dota 2 superteam collaboration, fellow Chinese organization EHOME has made its own grievances known against Elephant.
In an official press release, EHOME explained that it had originally reached an agreement with media company Elephant regarding the transfer of Liu ‘Sylar’ Jiajun, “taking into account the player’s wishes and respecting his desire for personal development.”
However, the organization noted, it “didn’t expect the subsequent farce that occurred,” which then led to negotiations of proper compensation and the early termination of Sylar’s contract, thereby hoping to protect the player’s legal rights and the interests of everyone involved.

“As of the present,” continued EHOME, “though we have repeatedly attempted to communicate with and urge Elephant to respect the aforementioned agreements, it has yet to fulfill its payment obligations.”
“We deeply regret this lack of a sense of obligation and professionalism on Elephant’s part. Still, we hope that it will abide by the relevant protocols and honor its commitments as soon as possible. In the event that it doesn’t, [EHOME] reserves the right to pursue legal action,” concluded the press release.
Previously, Sylar was announced as a member of the 4AM-Elephant superteam, before then being released and replaced by original choice Zhang ‘Eurus’ Chengjun. This whirlwind of events, in fact, happened in the span of a single day. And, at present, Sylar is still without a team.
To date, Elephant has not made any official statements regarding the matter. But looking into the comments section of EHOME’s official statement, Chinese Dota 2 organizations PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, and Royal Never Give Up hope more player protection rules are enforced in the future.
