Fnatic’s Dota 2 roster has finally chosen their new offlaner, Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee, who had a breakout 2020 year under the Motivate.Trust Gaming banner.
Masaros played an important role in the success of the Thai squad, helping them win two stacked Southeast Asian tournaments in BTS Pro Series Season 3 and DOTA Summit 13 Online.
Fnatic’s offlane roster spot opened up when their Singaporean star player, Daryl Koh “Iceiceice” Pei Xiang decided not to renew his contract, and then signed with Evil Geniuses instead.
- This is why KuroKy is one of the greatest minds in Dota 2
- Watch Ori absolutely shred the competition at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2
Masaros notably began his Dota 2 pro career in 2017, when he joined all-Thai squad ALPHA Blue. Later, he moved to Buriram United, before he made a name for himself as Motivate.Trust Gaming’s offlaner.
Masaros will be joining his fellow countryman, Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong under the stacked Fnatic Dota 2 roster.
Fnatic has made significant roster changes in 2020, with the signing of former Geek Fam star carry player Marc “Raven” Fausto. The team also switched Djardel “DJ” Mampusti to the position 5 support role, and gave him the team captain responsibilities moving forward. This was after Fnatic re-signed Jabz and allowed him to take over the position 4 role.
It is uncertain when fans will be able to see this new Fnatic squad in action, with no online events set in the Southeast Asian Dota 2 scene. But, with Fnatic accustomed to playing in international competitions, it will be interesting to see how Masaros performs outside of the SEA regional circuit.
