Invictus Gaming swept Chaos Esports Club, 3-0, in the grand finals of the Dota Summit 11 Minor to take home US$72,000, 140 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) points, and the last spot at the MDL Chengdu Major.
The mixed Chinese and Malaysian squad was dominant throughout the tournament, dropping only two games in both the Group Stage and the Playoffs — including a 2-0 drubbing of Chaos EC in the Upper Bracket finals. Chaos defeated Russian squad HellRaisers 2-0 in the Lower Bracket Finals to force a rematch.
Game one
IG went into the final series with all guns blazing, going with a strong tri-core of Faceless Void for Jin “flyfly” Zhiyi, Ember Spirit for Zhou “Emo” Yi, and Timbersaw for Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen.
An outdrafted Chaos countered by putting Yawar “YawaR” Hassan on Kunkka and Quinn “Quinn” Callahan on Templar Assassin, but the chaotic early game still ended up working out in IG’s favor. With momentum firmly on their side, IG took game one in just 24 minutes.

Game two
In game two, Chaos looked to even up the series by putting Quinn on Gyrocopter and YawaR on Slark, while IG went with Antimage for flyfly and Tiny for Emo.
Chaos came out of the early game leading in kills, but Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi on Mirana was instrumental in getting key pickoffs that opened up opportunities for IG to take the fight to their opponents.
Just as Chaos was looking to strike back, flyfly and Emo pulled off a sick Avalanche-Mana Void combo in a crucial clash at mid that gave IG the advantage they needed to take game two in 34 minutes.
Game three
With Chaos on the ropes, they looked to stabilize in game three with a tri-core of Lifestealer for YawaR, Outworld Devourer for Quinn, and Legion Commander for Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek.
IG opted for a strong midgame lineup led by Gyrocopter for flyfly, Templar Assassin for Emo, and Leshrac for JT-.
IG again took an early lead, but Chaos were able to keep themselves in the game with some crucial kills.
However, despite Chaos’ best efforts, IG started pulling away, and were repeatedly bearing down on Chaos’ base. While the North American squad were able to hold them off for a time, IG eventually overpowered their defenses to claim the series and the first championship of the 2019-2020 DPC.
With their win, IG becomes the fourth Chinese team in contention for the first Major championship of the season in their home country, alongside Vici Gaming, Team Aster, and EHOME.
The latest Summit champions will be heading home to prepare for the Chengdu Major, which will run from November 16-24, where US$1 million and 15,000 DPC points are on the line.
