The first day of the final week of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League regular season was filled with amazing Dota 2 action as teams looked to improve their records and stave off elimination.
The battle between the two Filipino Dota 2 squads ended in a draw, with Neon Esports and Adroit earning wins off of each other. Meanwhile, Both Geek Fam and BOOM Esports buckled down and prevented their opponents, T1 and NEW Esports, from scoring upset wins.
Neon Esports 1 – 1 Adroit Esports
The first game of the day featured an exciting hard carry battle between Neon Esports’ Andrei “skem” Ong on the Terrorblade and Adroit Esports’ John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas with the Phantom Lancer.
But, it was Neon Esports’ midlaner Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer who made game-winning plays on his Ember Spirit. Yopaj remained composed and played elusively against Adroit’s heroes, while Rafael “Rappy” Sicat Palo on the Pugna also had some unbelivable saves with his Life Drain ultimate.
As skem was able to farm quickly thanks to his teammates providing space, he would then demolish Adroit’s heroes in the late game team fights, which gave Neon Esports the 1-0 lead.
Adroit then evened the score against their fellow Filipino competitors, with a stellar Magnus performance from Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva who consistently hit team fight winning Reverse Polarity ultimates against Neon Esports.
With skem and Yopaj being completely shut down due to lack of team fight control from Neon Esports, Adroit earned a convincing Game 2 victory and finished the series in a draw.
Geek Fam 2 – 0 T1
Despite T1 taking a commanding 13-3 kill score lead over their opponents, they still couldn’t gain a sizable gold or experience lead against Geek Fam’s core heroes. T1 decided to go all-in on Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen’s Terrorblade, with the rest of the team’s core heroes falling way behind in terms of gold and experience.
T1 decided to go for a timing push with Meracle’s Terrorblade being significantly more farmed than the rest of Geek Fam’s heroes at the 32-minute mark. But Geek Fam managed to push Meracle forward with a Force Staff, which put the hard carry hero in a terrible position and allowed the Dire team to burst him down twice. After this, T1 would relinquish all map control and Geek Fam strolled into a Game 1 victory.
In the following game, Geek Fam’s Kenny “Xepher” Deo on the Mirana put on a show, as he made plays all around the map and helped his team win a crucial midlane team fight that prevented T1 to get back into the game. With Meracle’s Naga Siren putting all of Geek Fam’s heroes to sleep with his ultimate, Xepher used his Black King Bar and leapt right into the enemy team, sniping Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei’s Phoenix Supernova ultimate which forced T1 to retreat.
With Geek Fam gaining a massive gold lead, Raven’s Terrorblade eventually carried his team to a Game 2 victory by destroying T1 in the remaining team fights.

BOOM Esports 2 – 0 NEW Esports
During the final series of the day, Randy “Dreamocel” Sapoetra got his team back into the win column by carrying BOOM Esports in both games against NEW Esports. After acquiring a fast Battle Fury on his Troll Warlord, Dreamocel’s item progression quickly sped up, which helped the hard carry player dominate most of Game 1’s team fights.
And with Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman’s Invoker using his Alacrity spell on Dreamocel, which increases attack speed and base damage, NEW Esports’ heroes were completely powerless against BOOM Esports’ superior lineup.
In the final game of the day, Dreamocel would carry BOOM Esports yet again in a thrilling comeback win against NEW Esports. BOOM decided to use the Faceless Void Chronosphere and Phoenix Supernova combo which worked well at the start of the game.
But, after a terrible team fight that prompted BOOM Esports to spend their buybacks and get nothing in return, NEW Esports then took a commanding 12,000 gold lead, which put them in control of the game. This is when Dreamocel and the rest of BOOM would outplay NEW Esports and eventually equalize the game.
With NEW Esports feeling desperate, they decided to go for the Divine Rapier on Hsien Wan “LaNcE” Fua. Ultimately, this decision would only help BOOM Esports secure the final game, after LaNcE was taken down in Dreamocel’s Chronosphere.
Geek Fam and BOOM Esports make their way up the leaderboard by securing 3 additional points each after defeating their opponents.
After their impressive performance, Geek Fam has caught up to NEW Esports and is tied with them in fourth place with 11 points each, while BOOM Esports moves up to third place with a total of 12 points.
On the other hand, as Neon Esports and Adroit finish their series in a draw, both teams have earned 1 point each with Adroit still on the brink of elimination.
