Team Secret announced that they made an offlane player change to their Dota 2 roster. The Western European team has signed Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok, who will be replacing Daryl “iceiceice” Koh.

Under the recommendation of Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov, Secret had Resolut1on stand-in for iceiceice at the Riyadh Masters last month. He and Zayac previously played for HellRaisers in 2021 in the CIS region.

The change gave Secret the spark they drastically needed, as it resulted in their best tournament run this year.

“Stand-in no more,” tweeted Secret. “The best offlane duo is finally back together.”

The two Eastern European players were praised for their great teamwork at Riyadh Masters. “At their peak, they are probably one of the best, if not the best duo for certain months in a row,” OG’s Sébastien “Ceb” Debs commented.

Playing alongside their Ukrainian offlaner, Secret finished in fourth place at Riyadh Masters with wins over Tundra Esports and PSG.LGD in the group stage.

Before their strong showing at Riyadh Masters, Secret has been struggling throughout the DPC 2021/2022 season. They finished in fifth place in all three Tours of the Western European regional league and at Gamers Galaxy Invitational Series that took place in Dubai.

Resolut1on’s signing marks Secret’s third roster move of the season. The team mutually parted ways with former TI5 champion Syed “SumaiL” Hassan, who was replaced by Remco “Crystallis” Arets before the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022 Tour 3.

Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat then decided to step down from the team’s active roster citing health issues, and Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov took his place in the middle of the DPC WEU Tour 3 Division 1 tournament.

Now, Secret parts ways with veteran Singapore offlaner iceiceice weeks before they’re set to compete in ESL One Malaysia, which will take place from August 23 to 28.

“It’s a tough decision to make but today we say goodbye to iceiceice,” said Secret. “Thank you for your time with the squad, we wish you the best in the future.”

This makes iceiceice a free agent who can explore his options ahead of TI qualifiers after spending the entire DPC 2021/2022 season with Secret.

  • (2) Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  • (3) Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok
  • (4) Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov
  • (5) Clement “Puppey” Ivanov
  • Lee “Heen” Seung Gon (coach)

Secret dropped down to 31st place in the DPC points standings as of the time of writing. They were only able to secure 93.07 DPC points in the DPC 2021/2022 season.

The team’s only chance to qualify for TI11 and keep Puppey’s Dota 2 world championship attendance streak alive is by prevailing in the long and arduous regional qualifiers, set to take place sometime after the PGL Arlington Major.
