North America is one down after The International 2023.
The nouns Dota 2 roster, which exceeded expectations with a top eight finish at TI12, has disbanded following the resolution of the tournament, the organization announced today.
While no reason was given for its current roster’s departure, the org remains hopeful of remaining in Dota, asking fans to “keep an eye out for [their] 2024 plans.”

Nouns established its presence in Dota 2 in May 2022 after signing the 4Zoomers roster. It quickly established itself as one of the top three teams in North America, and made it to the Last Chance Qualifiers at TI11.
The organization attended its first Dota 2 Major this year when they attended the Bali Major, and beat out the rest of the region by placing first in the TI12 Regional Qualifier. From there, the team went on to upset Tundra Esports, one of the favorites at TI12, to enter the upper bracket. Further losses to Azure Ray and Gaimin Gladiators, plus a win over NA rivals TSM, meant they finished top eight — the highest of any NA organization.
With the dissolution of the Dota Pro Circuit, it remains to be seen how it will affect intra-regional competition. Still, the nouns organization seems hopeful of continuing in Dota 2, and we’ll hopefully get to see more NA representation on the international stage.
