Esports organization Team SMG is changing its roster ahead of the Dota Pro Circuit SEA 2021/2022 Division I Tour 2.
Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr is replacing Roger “Roddgeee” Tan Boon Thye as SMG’s new hard support, the org announced today.
SMG finished the first tour of DPC SEA 2021/2022 in fourth place with a 5-2 record, improving on the result to third in the Winter Regional Finals. The top four of Southeast Asia seem to be locked in step, and the org will hope the addition of the 30-year-old will push them over the top.
Ninjaboogie was one of the original members of Team SMG in January 2021, but left the roster in April that year. The player hasn’t joined a professional team since, marking a 10-month break from the Dota Pro Circuit.
The Filipino-American is best known for leading Mineski to first place at the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018, becoming the first ever Southeast Asian team to claim a Major tournament.
