Team Secret soundly defeated a surging Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), 2-0, in their group stage matchup at the WePlay! Pushka League.

Secret’s signature brilliance in teamfight execution fueled their victory in the series, especially in a closely-contested game one.

NiP opened with a four-protect-one strategy headlined by a Troll Warlord for Charlie “CharlieDota” Arat, with Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha on Queen of Pain, Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek on Beastmaster, Adrian “Era” Kryeziu on Phoenix, and Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev on Oracle to back their carry up.

Meanwhile, Secret opted for a strong midgame lineup with Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen on Monkey King, Michal “Nisha” Jankowski on Death Prophet, Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg on Centaur Warrunner, Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat on Rubick, and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov on Ogre Magi.

While NiP was down in kills after the laning phase, Charlie’s Troll Warlord topped the net worth charts to keep his team on relatively even footing with Secret heading into the midgame. In a huge clash at the 26-minute mark, NiP was able to protect Era’s Supernova to win that engagement and take the momentum for themselves.

Secret showcased their peerless teamfight execution to take back control of the game in a big teamfight win at the 38-minute mark, where they picked methodically picked apart NiP’s lineup even if they held the high ground.

Matumbaman’s Monkey King then exploded to top the net worth charts and lead Secret in hemming NiP inside their base, while YapzOr’s Rubick notably won the ensuing fights for his team with clutch Spell Steals.

NiP was able to hold off Secret’s onslaught after Charlie was able to take down Matumbaman by himself in a siege at the mid lane at the 50-minute mark. However, that could not stop Secret from showing their dominance in back-to-back teamfights to force the GG call after 56 minutes.

Matumbaman led all players with a 16/6/17 KDA while Nisha had a 10/5/26 line as they formed the lynchpins of Secret’s assault. Meanwhile, YapzOr put up a clean 7/0/22 record as he controlled the teamfights from the backlines.

Secret went on to win game two and secure the series sweep over NiP. Both teams have already secured their spots in the Playoffs of the WePlay! Pushka League, however they will have to play one more match to determine their seedings. Secret will end their group stage campaign against Team Nigma, while NiP will be taking on OG.
