The ESL One Stockholm Major has finally concluded with European esports organization OG winning its fifth Dota 2 Major by beating North American squad TSM.FTX 3-1.
OG left with the lion’s share of the US$500,000 prize pool and 3,530 DPC point pool, but there was plenty of top-notch Dota from all the teams in the tournament.
The tournament featured outstanding individual plays, incredible teamfight prowess, and a lower bracket run to remember. Here’s a look back at the top five plays from the tournament’s playoffs.

5. Team Liquid’s MATUMBAMAN is an escape artist
Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen’s Lone Druid avoided BetBoom Team’s incoming gank attempt by jumping into the enemy Underlord’s Fiend’s Gate ultimate.
We’ve seen teams at the Stockholm Major utilize Underlord’s ultimate to synchronize their attacks and most players avoid jumping into it because it could just send them straight into the enemy team’s fountain.
However, MATUMBAMAN took the risk and jumped into the ultimate while under the enemy Grimstroke’s Phantom’s Embrace and Soulbind. Unfortunately, MATUMBAMAN’s teammates weren’t as lucky, as they were picked apart by BetBoom Team.
4. TSM.FTX are the comeback kings of the Stockholm Major
TSM’s teamfight mastery was on full display as they pulled off a remarkable double teamwipe against Gaimin Gladiators. The North American squad avoided their opponents with David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang’s Phoenix casting his Supernova ultimate.
Gaimin Gladiators forced the clash, which caused MoonMeander’s Phoenix to use his Refresher Orb. This let him use another Supernova ultimate that resulted in a teamwipe in favor of TSM.
The European squad decided to double down and used four of their buybacks to immediately rejoin the fight. Unfortunately for Gaimin Gladiators, TSM still had enough gas in the tank for another teamwipe.

3. Jaunuel with the biggest save at the Stockholm Major
Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla came up clutch for Fnatic during an intense teamfight against their regional rivals T1. The climax of the series took place when Fnatic and T1 clashed outside the Rosh Pit. T1 quickly dispatched three of their opponents, which left Raven’s hard carry Luna to go up against three T1 heroes on his own.
Raven’s Luna killed T1’s hard carry Phantom Assassin, but was left with a sliver of health in the aftermath. With such high stakes in the outcome of the teamfight, Jaunuel immediately bought back and teleported to his midlane tower to rejoin the fight. Jaunuel’s Bane then used Nightmare on Raven, which prevented T1’s Mars from landing the finishing blow on him.
Raven wasn’t out of the woods yet with T1 continuing to chase him down. With only 17 HP remaining on Raven’s Luna, Jaunuel pulled off another incredible save by casting Shadow Amulet on his teammate, which prevented his hard carry Luna from dying to the enemy Winter Wyvern’s Splinter Blast—then the resta of Fnatic came in to clean up.
2. BetBoom Team’s Rat Dota prevails
Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin, Denis “Larl” Sigitov, and Maksim “forcemajor” Meretskii ultimately reminded Thunder Awaken why the game is called “Defense of the Ancients.”
The South American squad looked to be in complete control of the game, winning pivotal teamfights which pushed BetBoom inside their base. After holding off Thunder Awaken’s siege, BetBoom waited for their moment to shine and end the game.
After spending their own buybacks, Thunder Awaken decided to go for the Aegis of the Immortal. BetBoom saw this as an opportunity to end the game. The CIS squad teleported three of their heroes straight into Thunder Awaken’s base and took down the Radiant team’s fountain.
1. OG slays together to win it all
OG added the Stockholm Major’s trophy into their collection with an incredible tournament run. European squad made their way through the lower bracket, eliminating five teams en route to the grand final.
What’s even more impressive is that they did it without their team captain Mikhail “Misha” Agatov and coach Evgenii “Chuvash” Makarov who were unable to secure visas and travel to Sweden.
OG defeated TSM.FTX 3-1 by outlasting their North American rivals in long drawn-out teamfights. The European squad chained their abilities and ultimates that kept Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev’s Templar Assassin alive for far longer than expected.
