Just days after the conclusion of the Singapore Major, qualifiers are already underway for season two of the SEA lower division league.
There are plenty of familiar names in the participating teams, including Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky, Damien “kpii” Chok, and Yang “Deth” Wu Heng to name a few.
Then, I saw it. Motivate.Trust were also playing the qualifiers!
I had a feeling Motivate.Trust was coming back after seeing Masaros’s statement when he was removed from the main Fnatic Roster:
“It was a great opportunity and learning experience to be able to play with TI caliber teammates, I feel very fortunate. There’s a lot of things I learned in my time here. Overall, it was wonderful. Moving forward, I will play with my former Thai teammates. Good luck to Fnatic, and us.”

I was a huge fan of the original roster before JaCkky and Masaros left pre-DPC season. The 2020 iteration of Motivate.Trust made waves in the SEA region after winning the DOTA Summit 13 Online: Southeast Asia last year.
The roster is almost exactly the same with the exception of Anurat “boombell” Praianun, the original hard support player.

The team didn’t drop a single game in the qualifiers, opponent after opponent. They demolished inYourdreaM’s stack, and went on to 2-0 Team SMG, a star-studded lineup consisting of Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng, Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan, Muhammad “Neah666” Ammar Rasulli, and Damien “kpii” Chok.
After beating SMG, Motivate had one opponent left — Royale 5.
They put up a fight, especially during game two, but ultimately, Motivate.Trust went on to finish the series 2-0 and secure themselves a spot in the SEA lower division league.
Seeing the team perform so well during the SEA open qualifiers, I personally have high hopes for them going into the lower division league. Their drafts during qualifiers were solid, they made great decisions during the laning stage and roaming, and still appear to have the same high level of team chemistry they were famed for last year.
I still feel bad that Masaros and JaCkky were removed from their former teams, but maybe it’s for the better.
