The Fortnite Chapter 6 trailer ended with a peak at a spiked monster, later confirmed to be Godzilla. But when is the Fortnite Godzilla skin release date?

Fortnite Chapter 6 rolled out with several new game updates and in-game cosmetics, keeping players busy grinding the 1,000 V-Bucks battle pass.

The Japan-themed skins and items are quite rare in Fortnite, so it’s no surprise players are invested in the battle pass. It seems Epic Games has more gas left in the tank, as the biggest surprise item of Chapter 6 is yet to arrive.

Godzilla has been confirmed as the midseason battle pass reward, and players will need to jump through a few hoops to unlock it. But one look at the Fortnite Godzilla skin, and you’ll be sold.

Godzilla is the newest NPC boss coming to Fortnite, but the OG Kaiju isn’t available to unlock just yet. According to the Chapter 6 Season 1 battle pass, Godzilla release date in Fortnite is on January 17. The mini-event will come with two new pages of battle pass, throwing Godzilla into the Fortnite arena as an NPC boss.

The Godzilla skin in Fortnite stays true to the original movies, with a twist—gunmetal pink spikes that give it a unique Fortnite flair. The beast’s entire body also has pink rips in contrast with his dark, rugged skin. Appearance-wise, Godzilla looks more like a player wearing a beast suit rather than an actual monster, giving it a more realistic feel.

Since Godzilla is locked behind the battle pass, players may have to complete numerous quests to win Godzilla-themed items, and then finally, the Godzilla Evolved skin itself. It won’t be easy, but players will have more than a month to unlock the Godzilla skin in Fortnite.

Chapter 6’s Season 1 Battle Pass is priced at 1,000 V-Bucks and will be available for purchase until February 21, 2025, at 5:00 a.m. EST.
