How to get the Birthday Medallion in Fortnite
The Birthday Medallion is a key part of Fortnite’s seventh birthday celebration, but it’s not easy to find. You won’t come across it as regular ground loot, and there’s no NPC you need to meet to get it.
Instead, the Birthday Medallion can only be found in Birthday Presents, which have been added to the game as a part of the ongoing celebration.
Birthday Presents in Fortnite can be found on the ground or inside chests. However, since they are kind of legendary items, they are rare. The downside is they spawn at random locations, so you may not find them in the same place twice.
So, the only way to get a Birthday Present is by exploring major POIs, as you’ll most likely find them there. However, keep in mind that other players will also be looking for them at these locations, so keep your weapon out at all times.
After you’ve spotted a Birthday Present, simply pick it up and throw it on the ground to open it. You will then be able to pick up the Birthday Medallion along with an epic or legendary item.
How to use the Birthday Medallion in Fortnite
Unlike the Boss Medallions, which grant you a special power and reveal your location, Birthday Medallions don’t behave the same way. They simply spawn balloons on your back.
The balloons will keep spawning as long as you have the medallion equipped. For those who don’t know, balloons can be used to float around the map, and they’re a great way of traveling. They can help you reach the top of buildings or mountains quickly.
However, if you’re in the air, your enemy can shoot the balloon, which will send you back to the ground. You can also release the balloon yourself if you don’t want enemies to spot you.
