However, as usual, long queues likely caused many players to miss the event, leaving them curious about what happened during the Doctor Doom live event in Fortnite.
What happened during the Doctor Doom live event in Fortnite?
The event kicked off with Doom’s plan to return to the Fortnite island for Pandora’s Box. To stop the villain, all the Marvel superheroes united on the battlefield. Initially, they aligned all the Rift Beacons on the island, pointing straight toward Doom’s Tower to prevent him from landing on the island in the first place, but things didn’t go as planned as the beacons were almost useless.
As the countdown timer at Reckless Railway reached zero, Doctor Doom, with a massive health bar, arrived on the Fortnite map. This triggered a marvelous cutscene where players witnessed Marvel superheroes and the Fortnite iconic characters fighting together to defeat Doctor Doom.
After the cutscene, Doom appeared in all Fortnite Battle Royale matches, where players had to collectively deplete his massive health bar to zero. Surprisingly, Doom didn’t survive even one hour, as over 3.5 million players joined forces to complete the challenge.
Epic also assigned a quest to players, which simply required them to defeat Doom, rewarding them with a loading screen.
What happens next in Fortnite?
While the next season is still a few weeks away, players will experience the Fortnitemares 2024 event before Season 4 wraps up. As a result, Fortnite players will transition to a Halloween-themed island where they can also encounter Mephisto, who has secretly been summoned to the island.
Like other NPCs, you can purchase services from Mephisto, such as offering him 20 HP to receive a random weapon, 40 HP for a mysterious ability, or, for the riskiest deal, be left with only 1 HP in exchange for rebooting your entire squad.
On top of that, you can find the damaged parts of the Rift Beacons at locations like Grand Glacier, Restored Reel, and Brawler’s Battleground.
You can expect all of these changes to arrive on October 11 when the Fortnitemares 2024 update goes live, and shortly after that, Epic will begin preparing for the next season. In short, plenty of exciting content is on the way.
