How to reach Abyssal Woods in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
To reach the Abyssal Woods you must travel to the Shadow Keep Main Gate Site of Grace in the Shadow Keep castle located in Scadu Altus region and defeat the Golden Hippopotamus boss to unlock the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace.
From there, you must follow the path on the left side and keep moving until you find a ladder leading to the lower level. Use the ladder and move around the edges to find another ladder.
Take it and keep moving until you reach the room with the collectable painting. On the right side, there’s a hidden wall that you can break by attacking.
Once done, follow the path and take the coffin to reach the Castle Watering Hole Site of Grace.
Now, you must run past the Furnace Golem towards the south to reach the Recluses River Upstream Site of Grace.
Continue descending the mountain until you reach the Recluses River Downstream Site of Grace.
After you arrive there, head to the southmost part of the area to find the entrance of the Darklight Catacombs.
Clear it and defeat the boss, Jori, Elder Inquisitor, to access the path leading to Abyssal Woods.
Elden Ring Winter Lantern location
You can find the Winter Lantern-type enemies west of the Abyssal Woods Site of Grace. The first Winter Lantern is close to the Site of Grace, whereas you will come across two more as you follow the main path.
How to defeat Winter Lantern in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, you can defeat the Winter Lantern enemies by parrying their attacks and then attacking with a normal attack or a riposte.
Once you parry their attacks using a shield or any other equipment, their bodies will be vulnerable to attacks for a short time.
Use this window to defeat them or lower their HP so you can finish them with the next parry.
