How would you like it if the hero of one of the greatest film sagas ever made visited your video game world?
This was exactly what happened to Animal Crossing: New Horizons player, Star Wars fan, and Twitter user Jessa (@directedbyrian).
It all started with this simple, rather unassuming tweet:
After tweeting about her turnip prices (which buys for 599 bells by the way), Elijah Wood — best known as Frodo from The Lord of the Rings movies — sent Jessa a direct message asking for her Dodo Code to access her island.
She immediately responded, and “Elwood from Driftwood” came not just to sell his turnips but to explore the whole island and hang out, as well.
Wood was quick to pay compliments to Jessa’s island, to which she jokingly responded that she’ll add his praise on her resume.

At one point, the Lord of the Rings star even asked for permission to harvest some of the island owner’s produce. It’s probably the politest thing ever.
It certainly looked like Wood enjoyed his visit. He spent time meeting and chatting with Jessa’s friends, posing for screenshots, and playing audience to some of their sweet dance moves.
And he even took some playful smacks to the head — whether or not he knew what was happening.
Before leaving Jessa’s island, Wood affirmed his host’s fondness for the Rian Johnson-directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The special interaction unfortunately had to end, but Jessa’s island will always remain open for Elwood.
This is impressive, uplifting stuff from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Who knew the stalk market could be such a great way to bring people together during this time of limited social contact?
