Introducing the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters!
Welcome to the electrifying world of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, the latest addition to the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series.
Developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco, this 3D fighting game pays homage to the iconic manga series the legendary Akira Toriyama created.
Though the long-running Dragon Ball franchise, which began in 1986, boasts possibly the largest cast in all of manga and anime, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero stands out with a whopping roster of over 100 playable characters.
Let’s explore the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero world, its gameplay mechanics, and how it fits into the rich legacy of the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero gameplay
Engage in heart-pounding, high-speed 3D battles that stay true to the anime and video game series, with authentic Dragon Ball Z visuals and iconic combat moves like beam clashes, rush attacks, and planet-razing ultimate attacks.
The game features a behind-the-back third-person camera perspective, offering a dynamic view of the action.
Unique to Sparking Zero is the treatment of special forms as their characters, each with distinct stats, move-sets, and fighting styles.
Step into an arena that reacts to your every action. The environment responds with stunning realism as you transform or unleash your most devastating attacks. Leave a trail of destruction in your wake as you battle to your heart’s content.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero release date
The game’s official release date is on October 11, 2024.
All Dragon Ball Sparking Zero characters
The Budokai Tenkaichi series has a history of offering an expansive roster.
Its predecessor, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, released in 2007, boasted a roster of 98 characters and 161 forms for players to choose from.
Anticipated to surpass its predecessor, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is expected to feature an even larger roster. Bandai Namco announced on September 20, 2024, that the game has a total of 182 playable characters at launch.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero total character count is 20 more than its predecessor. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 featured 162 characters.
To clarify, while Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features over 100 characters, some players may count different forms, like Goku’s Super Saiyan 1 to 4, as separate characters, while others may consider them as variations of a single character. The number of playable characters can, therefore, vary depending on how players classify these transformations.
