All Metaphor ReFantazio characters
Protagonist (Natsuki Hanae)
The protagonist is a member of the Elda tribe, a group ostracized by society. With his fairy companion Gallica by his side, he embarks on a dangerous quest to lift the curse on the kingdom’s prince.
As an outcast, the protagonist faces deep-rooted prejudice from the state religion, which has labeled his people as dangerous. His journey isn’t just about saving the prince—it’s about confronting these societal challenges and embracing his power through the “Seeker” archetype, which evolves as the story progresses.
Hanae is also known for voicing Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul, Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer, Falco Grice in Attack on Titan, and Kourai Hoshiumi in Haikyuu.
Gallica (Sumire Morohoshi)
Gallica is a fairy who guides the protagonist. Though small and unable to fight directly, her sharp mind and tactical skills more than compensate.
She balances humor and practicality in the group, often delivering blunt advice. What sets Gallica apart is her ability to awaken the Mage archetype within the party, a pivotal element in the game’s progression. She may not wield a sword, but her influence is felt in every battle and strategic decision.
Morohoshi voices Yuki Itose in A Sign of Affection, Yachi in Haikyuu, and Pela in Honkai Star Rail.
Strohl (Kensho Ono)
Strohl, a Clemar nobleman, grapples with a past scarred by trauma involving humans. His decision to enlist in the State Army alongside commoners reflects his internal conflict between his privileged upbringing and his desire to create a more just world.
Strohl’s archetype, the Warrior, taps into his sense of duty and justice, making him a reliable and conscientious figure in the protagonist’s journey. His character highlights the tension between status and equality, a theme that runs deeply through the game.
Ono is also known for voicing Giorno Giovanna in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Yuri Briar in Spy x Family, and Diluc Ragnvindr in Genshin Impact.
Hulkenberg (Saori Hayami)
Once a knight in the prince’s personal guard, Hulkenberg has been living in self-imposed exile after failing to protect her charge. Drawn back by the king’s death, she reenters the fray, this time by the protagonist’s side.
Hulkenberg’s stoic nature hides her eccentric habits, such as her willingness to eat almost anything, no matter how bizarre. As the party’s Knight archetype, she’s both a protector and a figure haunted by past mistakes, with her return to duty signaling a chance at redemption.
Hayami voices Yor Forger in Spy x Family, Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer, and Kamisato Ayaka in Genshin Impact.
