Searching for the best races for Priests in World of Warcraft: The War Within? Look no further—this ONE Esports guide has everything you need.
The Priest is the dedicated healer class in World of Warcraft. Designed for team-wide support, these clerics use their divine powers to restore HP, whittle down enemies, abjure incoming damage, and turn weak-willed foes.
Despite their healing-per-second (HPS) numbers dropping in recent months, Priests still provide invaluable buffs, making them a staple in raid groups. To maximize your effectiveness from the start, choosing the right race is crucial.
Dive into our comprehensive ONE Esports guide to discover the best races in this class and how to make the most of their unique abilities.
Best races for Priest in World of Warcraft
Night Elf
The Night Elf is a great class to start with because its racial passives make you harder to hit. Their active racial ability Shadowmeld makes you avoid multiple enemies if you ever take aggro.
You also get back in the fight faster if you fall in battle.
Undead
Undead gives you more ways to sustain yourself while offering additional damage resistances. While it seems ironic for a zombie to possess holy healing powers, it’s a great source of flavor!
Tauren
The Tauren’s hardiness, healing bonuses and AoE stun make minotaurs the safest starting race for Priests in the Horde.
Aesthetics-wise, you won’t be getting a ton of cool transmogs, but you’ll have that extra Stamina to help you survive the early game.
Troll
We’re adding Trolls to our list because this race was built for self-sustain. Priests are usually flimsy, but a Troll Priest regenerates HP faster, can shirk movement debuffs and boost their Haste by 15% for 10 seconds.
You also get extra EXP when you kill beasts with the Beast Slaying passive, letting you level faster than average if you farm the right mobs.
Pandaren
Lastly, we have the Pandaren, a race whose power derives from the rested and well-fed conditions that let them level quicker.
However, the main draw is their Quaking Palm active racial which incapacitates enemies for four seconds, and lets you and your allies disengage from the fight.
