Marvel Rivals feature seven support (or Strategist) units at launch, each capable of providing healing and damage buff to allies.

However, they are not equally efficient, and choosing one that’s powerful and easy to master can be tricky.

As such, this ONE Esports guide explains the best support characters in Marvel Rivals.

Best Strategists in Marvel Rivals

There are currently three Strategists in Marvel Rivals who can significantly improve your team’s survivability with their healing maneuvers, deal decent damage to pick off strays, and most importantly, are relatively easy to learn.

Mantis

Mantis is by far the easiest support character to learn in Marvel Rivals. However, it’s not the only reason why she’s on the list.

Mantis can be a part of every team composition. Whether you have a team of long-ranged or melee duelists, Mantis can make them more effective by increasing their mobility.

She can also stun enemies and boost allies’ damage, which again benefits all kinds of Duelists.

Most importantly, Mantis can provide AoE healing over time to allies, which is especially useful if you’re playing with a controller since you don’t have to worry about missing your shots. This, in particular, makes Mantis an incredibly efficient and reliable support character.

Add to that her ability to give herself a damage boost, and you have Mantis as the most powerful self-sustaining unit in Marvel Rivals.

Luna Snow

Luna Snow is just as powerful as Mantis, but landing her single-target healing projectiles can take a while to master.

The best thing about her abilities is that if they hit the enemies instead of allies, they deal damage instead. Hence, while you still have to aim and shoot, the tides can still be in your favor regardless of who you shoot at.

Thankfully, Luna is a better damage dealer than Mantis, so you can play her as a cautious DPS / sustain unit if you want to.

What makes Luna an S-tier support unit, however, is her ultimate ability. You can use it to activate an area-wide healing or damage boost pool,  which affects all nearby party members.

What’s more, it doesn’t require additional input after activating it, except that you have to be near your allies. Luna’s ultimate is great for any situation but is particularly effective when the entirety of the enemy team is in close proximity.

Like Mantis, Luna is a great fit in any Marvel Rivals team. You can even bring both of them and infuriate the enemy team with their crowd-control abilities.

Cloak & Dagger

Cloak & Dagger can be a deadly duo if you learn how to play them. Like Luna, Dagger’s primary projectile ability can heal or deal damage, depending on who it hits. Unlike Luna’s, however, Dagger’s projectiles can track nearby enemies, so you don’t have to worry about missing your shots.

Like Mantis, Dagger can also provide AoE healing over time, but it’s not as effective as the former’s.

On the other hand, Cloak can apply debuffs to enemies and deal continued damage to them.

Cloak also has a support ability that makes nearby allies invisible and boosts their movement speed, which you can use to get your team out of a tricky situation.

However, both Cloak & Dagger share the same health bar, which isn’t too big to begin with, so you would want to have another healer or a tank by your side at all times to fully realize their potential.

Cloak & Dagger are also relatively tough to master, so it may take a while to play them effectively.

These are currently the best support characters in Marvel Rivals.
