Black Myth Wukong is inarguably a pretty resource-hungry game, which is why players, especially with the low-end hardware, face a hard time running the game smoothly.

Thankfully, Game Science, the developers of the game, integrated a special feature called Compatibility Mode for those having issues running Black Myth Wukong on their PCs.

So what exactly the Compatibility Mode in Black Myth Wukong? Let’s find out.

Black Myth Wukong Compatibility Mode explained

In Black Myth Wukong, Compatibility Mode turns off certain features that are specifically designed for high-end gaming systems. This mode is similar to the Safe Mode found in Windows, where third-party programs are disabled when the system encounters issues.

According to the game developers, the Compatibility Mode is integrated into Black Myth Wukong to help players tackle issues like lag, black screen and constant crashing.

However, it’s worth noting that it’s exclusive to the PC version only, which means there’s no Compatibility Mode in the console version.

So if you’re playing the game on average hardware such as GTX 1660ti GPU, then you can try using the Compatibility Mode only if you are continuously running into the aforementioned problems in the game.

However, as mentioned earlier, you should only use Compatibility Mode as a troubleshooting method to counter pesky issues.

Once enabled, the game might automatically turn on the V-sync option and turn off specific features that you can’t undo until you launch Black Myth Wukong in the standard settings.
