One of the best armors you can get in Destiny 2 is an Exotic called the Blight Ranger, an infamous helmet that’s known for dishing out insane damage while generating free energy for your team.

While the mission that rewards it regularly goes on rotation, you’ll have to do it solo to reap the reward. Here’s everything you need to know to get the Blight Ranger in Destiny 2.

The Blight Ranger is an exotic drop that removes any Energy cost when blocking with your Arc Staff. But that’s not the best part.

The Blight Ranger’s exotic perk “Voltaic Mirror” lets you deflect enemy projectiles with 400% increased damage. Doing so generates an “Orb of Power” which grants 7% Super Energy to anyone in your Fireteam.

The helmet was introduced in Season of the Risen in 2022 and has no Power Cap on top of having Armor 2.0 mods

The Blight Ranger can be used in a lot of raids, and it’s this versatility that makes it a challenge to get.

How to unlock the Blight Ranger in Destiny 2

To get the Blight Ranger, you must have Season of the Witch content unlocked on your account.

The Blight Ranger drops as a reward for “Legend” & “Master”-difficulty Lost Sectors that give out Exotic head armor. You’ll need to do these missions solo for a chance to get the loot drop you want.

Don’t forget to bring lifesaving mods like “Protective Light” and High-Energy Fire damage buffs when you head into Lost Sectors like K1 Logistics. It’s worth noting that you’ll need to match damage types to break some enemy shields here.

Best class for the Blight Ranger

Maximize the Blight Ranger’s capabilities when you run an Arcstrider Hunter, a melee-focused subclass that offers tons of buffs that recharge your melee and reload holstered weapons.

With the energy cost removed, you’ll be able to withstand more hurt with the Arc Staff’s block. And while you’re deflecting enemy damage, the extra energy Blight Ranger generates from deflecting enemy fire will go towards your next ultimate, creating a nice feedback loop.
