Blizzard is getting creative with ways to encourage people to do their part in curbing the global COVID-19 outbreak.

Case in point: they’re offering a 100% XP bonus to all players of World of Warcraft from now until April 20.

The “Winds of Wisdom” experience buff is available to players of the free-to-play Starter Edition, as well as the Legion and Battle for Azeroth expansions.

Its effects stack with the XP boosts that players can get from their heirloom armors.

The promotion offers a win-win scenario for all involved during these trying times.

While players can advance their characters’ in-game progress in half the time, Blizzard likely gets a boost in WoW player engagement — at least for the next month or so.

Hopefully, this entices a few thousand more folks to spend more time at home, helping slow down the rapid spread of the coronavirus disease in the process.

World of Warcraft remains one of the most enduring MMORPGs today. Thanks to a series of expansions launched since the game’s original 2004 iteration, as well as last year’s release of World of Warcraft Classic, the franchise is still relevant amid the boom of other video game titles and genres through the years.
