Set in the plague-ridden 14th century, this role-playing game thrusts players into a world where the Black Death and endless wars have left humanity vulnerable.
Seizing this moment of weakness, vampires led by the formidable Brencis emerge from the shadows to dominate what remains of civilization. Their promise of protection comes at a terrible price—freedom is exchanged for servitude.
Players step into the shoes of Coen, a vulnerable yet determined hero who, as Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek describes, “is not your typical game protagonist. He’s a young guy who at heart is emotional, he can get vulnerable, he’s honest about how he feels”.

Stricken with silver poisoning, Coen treads a fragile line between humanity and the vampiric curse, allowing him to “traverse both worlds, both the world of humanity and the world of the creatures of the night”.
Adding to the tension, players must race against time. “Coen has only 30 days and 30 nights to save his family,” warns Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, making every decision and action critical in this narrative sandbox where “no two playthroughs will be identical”.

Protagonist Coen breaks free from typical hero archetypes. Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek describes him as “a young guy who at heart is emotional, he can get vulnerable, he’s honest about how he feels”. His design reflects this vulnerability, emphasizing a grounded, relatable figure rather than an overpowered warrior.
The game’s vampires are equally distinct, reimagined with chilling detail. Art Director Bartlomiej Gawel explains, “Our vampire teeth keep growing throughout their lives… instead of two sharp teeth, they have a series of needle-like fangs… often emerging from different parts of their skull as they age”.
The environment mirrors this unsettling atmosphere, drawing from Eastern European influences to craft an authentic yet eerie setting.
“It’s a mix of predominantly Romanian motifs with broader influences of Balkan cultures,” says Gawel, blending Gothic cathedrals, Carpathian villages, and fog-drenched valleys to create spaces that feel both familiar and ominous.
Environment Artist Adam Payet highlights this transformation. “During the day, the cathedral is a monument to Gothic architecture… but as the sun sets, the fog starts setting in, and it becomes a completely transformed, spooky, almost liminal, cemetery-like space,” he said.
This seamless integration of character depth and atmospheric world design makes Blood of the Dawnwalker a hauntingly immersive experience where every visual detail enriches the narrative of survival and defiance.
