Destiny 2 Echoes Act 3 has brought a new exotic quest ‘Encore’ which you can complete to unlock the exotic auto rifle Choir of One. It’s easily one of the most powerful auto rifles in the game right now and you can make it even more powerful by unlocking and equipping its catalyst.
Choir of One in Destiny 2 guide
However, acquiring Choir of One’s catalyst isn’t as straightforward as most other weapon catalysts in the game, which is why we are here to guide you. We’ll explain how to get Choir of One catalyst in Destiny 2.
Choir of One catalyst quest walkthrough in Destiny 2
Once you have acquired the Choir of One auto rifle by completing the Encore exotic quest, head to the Tower and interact with Banshee-44 to pick up the Choir: Eternal quest. Completing this quest will unlock the first catalyst for Choir of One.
To complete the Choir: Eternal quest, you have to finish the Encore exotic mission again but this time at Expert difficulty. Furthermore, you have to open a secret chest. Now this is where it gets tricky.
The secret chest(s) in the Encore mission won’t show up until you have unlocked the Conductor’s Imprint Codes Research Instrument from Failsafe. For this, you have to finish the NES007 Specimen quest which is part of the ‘A Rising Chorus’ Act 3 quest.
Thankfully, NES007 is a straightforward five-step quest with objectives that mostly require you to kill Vex enemies.
After you have completed the Specimen quest, talk to Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to unlock the Imprint Codes upgrade. Doing so will unlock new hidden areas within the Encore exotic mission where you can find the secret chests.
Once you have started the Encore quest, proceed as before, past the first platforming section until you reach the area with the Vex Module puzzle. Right before you enter this area, turn left and you will see a small opening in the wall. It’s one of three secret locations that are now available to explore within this quest.
Head inside and you will find a glowing Vex Conflux structure. Access it to activate something called the Ancillary Transit Nexus. Doing so will spawn four white cubes. You can also notice a smaller cube below one of the cubes.
What you have to do here is shoot the cube that has the smaller cube below it. The latter will then spawn on one of the other three cubes. Shoot the one with the smaller cube and repeat the process until you have shot all four cubes. Doing so will complete the first sync.
Next, the four cubes will spawn throughout the room. Like before, you have to shoot the cubes in the order of the appearance of the smaller cube. Shoot all four cubes to complete the second sync. A secret chest will spawn in the area. Loot it and head back to the main area.
You can find the second secret chest in the area with the Planetoid Assimilation Piston. There is another glowing Vex Conflux here in the middle of the room. Access it to reveal a portal on the right side.
Use it to reach the starting area of the quest. There is another Vex Conflux here. Interact with it to start a time-constrained puzzle.
A few white lines will emerge from the Conflux into the surrounding area. Follow the white lines to find these plates on the nearby pillars. There are a total of five of them.
Shoot all five plates within the time limit to spawn the second secret chest. Keep in mind that some of the plates are well hidden, so you will have to look carefully.
The third secret chest is in the Ishtar Research Facility at the far end of the mission. As soon as you enter the facility, you will notice the glowing Vex Conflux. Access it to activate the nearby portal and use it to reach the third hidden area.
Here, you will notice a bunch of Vex module access points and these pink nodes on the floor above that are connected by white lines. What you have to do is destroy all the pink nodes before they self-replicate.
Use the Vex module access points to activate portals that will take you to the upper floor where you can shoot the pink nodes. Follow the white lines and use the appropriate portal to reach the correct pink node above.
Do note that you can’t destroy the node which is protected by a shield.
Destroy all the pink nodes before they self-replicate to solve the puzzle. Doing so will spawn the third and final secret chest and complete the secret chest objective of the Choir: Eternal quest.
If you had started the quest on Expert difficulty, proceed further and defeat the Choral Mind to complete the second objective and unlock the Subsistence Refit catalyst.
That concludes our guide how to Choir of One in Destiny 2.
