I got into Love and Deepspace three months after launch and till this day, I still regret not being a first-mover. I missed out on codes, freebies, and exclusive memories.
In this Love and Deepspace guide, I shall minimize your pain if you’re in the same boat as me. No matter where your journey starts, you can still effectively stretch your resources and make the best out of the game.
Despite being an otome game, the dating sim does include quite a few mechanics and features, including a “Battle” tab that has even more sub-categories. You’ll also notice multiple currencies on the top right corner, and even more in the shop.
If you’re feeling lost and overwhelmed, you’re not alone. It’s a lot to take in at first glance. Let this Love and Deepspace guide be your light, as Xavier would say.
This Love and Deepspace guide gives you crucial information to know before jumping in
5-star limited-time Memories do not come back
Unlike other popular gacha games on the market like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, Love and Deepspace limited-time banners do not have reruns. Check the fine print — Infold Games clearly states this on every exclusive banner.
This means that if you miss or do not manage to pull a 5-star Memory during their set time period, you’ll never be able to obtain it ever again.
I know, it’s a tough one to swallow. Being a hardcore HoYoverse gacha player, the worst we deal with are infrequent reruns.
Of course, Love and Deepspace, like most gacha games, does have what we call a “standard banner” that’s permanently available. You can earn Empyrean Wishes for free through various mechanisms in-game, and use them on the Xspace Echo banner and collect the listed 5-star Memories.
Why pull for 5-star Memories? Because these are fully animated and scripted with voice lines. 4-star Memories only give you audio stories while 3-stars do not serve any purpose except basic eye candy.
Sad to say, I didn’t get to wash soap off from Sylus’ body. Hopefully, there will be more activities in the future.
Make sure you complete exclusive events
There’s always something going on. Life is constantly moving whether in Linkon City or in reality.
Time-limited events are great because the game rewards you with a whole load of freebies and you should definitely aim to complete them. They are super worth it!
That said, it’s rare to receive free 5-star Memories during events. They’re usually all 4-star that make nice additions to your collection.
Each event has its own unique currency that you can use to redeem items from its exclusive time-limited event shop. There’s a whole slew of in-game items such as 4-star Memories, EXP and level up materials, stickers, BGM music, and more.
Don’t worry and don’t panic — you will definitely be able to redeem them all as long as you check-in daily and complete event tasks.
Stretch your dollar by buying small packs first
There are usually two types of exclusive 5-star banners — those that feature a single character or event-tied banners that feature all love interests who portray parallel stories surrounding that one theme.
Whether you have a single bias or more than one, it’s still a challenge to pull the character you want. At most, the game lets you select a limited number of memories (in the above Cat Caretaker case, it was three out of four) to narrow down your guranteed pool.
There is only one currency that lets you pull on exclusive time-limited banners — Deepspace Wish.
You can get them directly during events, by checking-in or through in-game mail. You can also convert 150 Diamonds to obtain a single Deepspace Wish.
You’ll notice in the shop that there are many discounted pack options that give you wishes. Alternatively, you can top up Crystals (purple diamond icon) and convert them to Diamonds. One Crystal equals to one Diamond (red diamond icon). Which is more worth it? Discounted wish packs.
Always exhaust the low to mid value Deepspace Wish packs first. They come with additional resources to help level up your memories too. If you do the math, the packs’ bang for buck decreases once you get to the more expensive packages, so consider your options wisely.
Actually, Stamina is the most important resource
Stamina is represented by the blue lightning symbol. You can check all available resources by clicking on your profile on the top left corner, then the “bag” icon at the bottom right corner.
Your inventory shows you all the items you own, plus the four in-game currencies on the top right hand corner: Stamina, Gold, Diamonds, Crystals.
I’ve come to discover that Stamina is much more precious than Diamonds or Crystals because leveling up your Memories is a challenge. While I understand that most games do make it exponentially harder to level up your team in the advanced stages, Love and Deepspace makes it especially hard.
Because of this, Stamina is the ultimate resource that gates you from unlocking non-story content. If your Memories aren’t high level enough, if you can’t put together a strong team, you can’t clear non-story content, you can’t receive freebies. Period.
Farming materials, clearing battle stages to get free Diamonds in Deepspace Trials, farming Protocores to further enhance max-level Memories, they’re all limited by the strength of your Memories, which are in turn limited by the Stamina you invest in them.
So please, don’t let your Energy Capsules expire. Check your inventory daily and use them when you can. You can only hoard Stamina up to 9999/170.
Make better choices: 5-star Memories versus 4-star Memories, Sun versus Moon, Auto Battle versus Manual Battle
When you do Bounty Hunts or engage in any battle, the game tells you a recommended minimum level. That minimum level only applies to 5-star Memories because 4-star are weaker and you’ll need to over level them if you want to clear these stages.
Does that mean you should only level up 5-star Memories and avoid 4-star Memories? The general rule is yes, but it’s impossible to clear early content without increasing certain 4-star Memories.
My advice is to be selective about them. Prioritize Sun pairs since they give you bonus stats, while Moon cards are more flexible. For example, Zayne’s strongest Sapphire pair are 5-star Memories but if you didn’t manage to get them from the standard banner yet, there is a 4-star Sapphire pair alternative. His 4-star Ruby pair is also useful.
There are players who spread out their resources and invest in all four characters from the start, while others sink all resources into one character and ensure they’re max level.
Eventually, you’ll notice that the game forces you to have a wide variety of Stellactrums (indicated by Emerald, Sapphire, Violet, Amber, Ruby, and Pearl symbols on each Memory) across characters in order to clear battle content by forming teams.
When it comes to 3-star Memories, I suggest not increasing them at all, especially since there’s plentiful of 4-star options to choose from. It’s a waste of limited resources.
As for combat, I don’t know anyone who plays this game for action outside the bedroom, so make your life easy by clicking “auto battle” on the top right hand corner of your landscape screen. Even I, a daily Honor of Kings ranker, finds it difficult to manual battle because it’s clunky.
