Curious about the new subclasses coming in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8? ONE Esports has everything you need to know.
Larian Studios revealed the details about their upcoming 2025 patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, which adds an official photo mode, cross-play, and new specializations for each class.
These long-awaited D&D subclasses offer new ways to enjoy the base game while opening up new possibilities in modding and multiclassing.
Here’s a full list of all new subclasses coming in BG3 Patch 8 next year.
New subclasses in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8
- “College of Glamour” Bard
- “Path of Giants” Barbarian
- “Death Domain” Cleric
- “Circle of Stars” Druid
- “Oath of the Crown” Paladin
- “Arcane Archer” Fighter
- “Drunken Master” Monk
- “Swarmkeeper” Ranger
- “Swashbuckler” Rogue
- “Shadow Magic” Sorcerer
- “Hexblade” Warlock
- “Blade Singing” Wizard
These subclasses offer powerful new abilities, like raising foes from the dead as soul-sucking spirits, BAMF-ing enemies out of the fight, summoning a literal legion of bees, and the Toll the Dead spell.
This massive update is a solid reason to jump back into BG3’s tadpole-filled campaign and is a great way to convince all of the three D&D fans who still haven’t played this game to proceed to checkout.
Minmaxers of the TTRPG will be delighted to see a certain option here. But only time will tell if the new subclasses will live up to their predecessors.
BG3 Patch 8 release date
While there isn’t a confirmed release date for Patch 8, the official blog post confirmed that PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players will be invited to playtest the initial patch to eliminate any bugs that may pop up in the future.
Stress tests for the upcoming patch begin in early January 2025. Check back for new information once the next community update drops in December.
