If you are eagerly waiting to play Deadlock but don’t know when the game is coming out or other important details, we’ve got you covered.

With that said, let us check the Deadlock release date, platform, and whether the game will be playable on Steam Deck.

Valve’s upcoming title, Deadlock, is turning out to be a big deal in the gaming community. The game has crossed the ninety-thousand concurrent players mark, even in closed beta, that many games fail to attain even with full releases and millions in marketing.

Now, for players who still don’t know what Deadlock is—it is a third-person shooter game that mixes two of the most popular genres, hero shooter and MOBA, into a single package, featuring a unique roster of heroes to select, great map design and team battle where only one team wins.

At the time of writing, Deadlock is in the very early stages of development. An early build of the game is available to playtesters, provided they are from the NA and EU regions. But when it comes to full release or a public early access release, Valve has shared no official details.

The Steam listing page also mentions, “Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invites via our playtesters.”

Based on these factors and the fact that the game went under development in 2023, we can expect Deadlock to be released in early 2026 or late 2025. We will keep a close eye on the game and update this section when we have an official release date.

Deadlock platforms on release

At the moment, Deadlock is only confirmed for PC, but since it’s a Valve game, there’s a 50-50 chance of it arriving on platforms like PlayStation and Xbox.

Will Deadlock be playable on the Steam Deck?

Steam Deck is handheld hardware from Valve, and considering Gabe Newell’s statement, “As a gamer, this is a product I’ve always wanted,” Deadlock will undoubtedly be playable on Steam Deck.

In fact, while Valve has not particularly talked about the Steam Deck compatibility, we already have Deadlock Steam Deck gameplay and performance videos showing the game running on the Steam Deck without any issues.

That is everything you need to know about the Deadlock release date and platforms.
