Destiny 2’s annual Solstice event has brought back the Precision Frame Solar Shotgun, Compass Rose, with new perk combinations that make it a solid pick for PvP activities. You could also use it in PvE activities, though there are only a few perk combinations that would be relevant there.

That said, if you’re on a mission to farm god roll for all Solstice weapons, including Compass roll, you’re in the right place.

This ONE Esports guide explains the Destiny 2 Compass Rose god roll for PvE and PvP activities.

BarrelBarrel Shroud: +10 Stability, +10 Handling
MagazineLight Mag: +10 Reload Speed, +5 Range
Perk 1Lead From Gold: Picking up Heavy ammo also grants ammo to this weapon.
Perk 2Trench Barrel: After a successful melee hit, this weapon gains increased damage, handling, and reload speed for a short duration—or until three shots are fired.
MasterworkReload Speed
Origin TraitDream Work: Once per reload, assists or assisted final blows partially refill the weapon from reserves and increase reload speed for a short duration. Bows receive faster draw time.

I wouldn’t recommend using a Shotgun in any PvE activity unless it’s for completing bounties or if you’re trying a certain build or playstyle.

Regardless, if you decide to use Compass Rose (or any Precision-Frame Shotgun) in these activities,  you first want to improve its Stability, Handling, and Reload Speed. With that in mind, it’s best to go with Barrel Shroud and Light Mag for Barrel and Magazine, respectively.

Lead from Gold is an easy pick for the third column perk for any Special weapon, and Compass Rose is no different. With this, you wouldn’t have to worry about running out of ammo, and that’s always a win in my book.

Most Shotgun builds are melee-focused, which is why you could go no wrong with Trench Barrel in the fourth column perk and get an easy boost to weapon damage, reload speed, and handling.

Like most Special and Heavy weapons, Shotgun can benefit from improved Reload Speed, which makes it an easy choice for Masterwork.

MagazineAssault Mag: +15 Stability, +5 Rounds Per Minute
Perk 1Threat Detector: Increased reload, stability, and handling when enemies are in close proximity.
Or
Slideshot: Sliding partially reloads this weapon’s magazine and temporarily boosts range and stability.
Perk 2Snapshot Sights: Faster time to aim down sights.

Or,
Opening Shot: Improved accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack.
MasterworkRange
Origin TraitDream Work: Once per reload, assists or assisted final blows partially refill the weapon from reserves and increase reload speed for a short duration. Bows receive faster draw time.

Compass Rose’s PvP god roll includes perk combinations that can also be seen in Matador 64, one of the best Shotguns in Destiny 2 right now. It’s what makes this Compass Rose god roll worth farming for, especially if you don’t have one for Matador 64.

For Barrel, you could go for Small Bore or Barrel Shroud. I personally prefer the latter because the extra Handling boost makes it relatively easy to swap between Primary and Special. That said, Small Bore would be a safer choice because of its Range buff.

For Magazine, Assault Mag is perfect for increasing Stability and Rate of Fire.

You could go for Threat Detector or Slideshot in the third column perk. The latter seems more relevant, as you would probably be sliding a lot, and every time you do that, you would get a significant boost to range and stability, not to mention a magazine refill.

For the fourth column perk, the best choices would be Snapshot Sights or Opening Shot. I personally prefer Snapshot Sights for the improved ADS, but Opening Shot would be objectively better.

Lastly, for Masterwork, Range is always a wise pick for the PvP god roll.

That sums up our Destiny 2 Compass Rose god roll.
