Destiny 2’s major content drop in The Final Shape update brought a new line of guns to the game.
Follow our guide on the new Destiny 2 Microcosm god roll for possibly one of the best PvE guns in The Final Shape.
The Microcosm is a heavy Trace Rifle that gives you both Light and Darkness energy for Transcendence.
How to get the Microcosm in Destiny 2

To get the Microcosm, beat The Final Shape campaign and start a questline with Micah’s Conduit in the OId Tower. Here’s how:
- Finish The Final Shape campaign.
- Talk to Ghost.
- Accept the “Destined Heroes” exotic quest.
- Finish the “Queens, Part 1” subquest.
- Head to the Old Tower and go to the war table room.
- Interact with Micah’s Conduit to start the “Convalescence” questline.
- Convalescence: Rootbound
- Convalescence: Underbrush
- Convalescence: Greenery
- Convalescence: Budding
- Turn in the Convalescence: Budding quest with Micah’s Conduit to get the Microcosm.
Destiny 2 Microcosm god roll for PvE

Microcosm god roll perk list:
SLOT | PERK |
Intrinsic | Paracausal Beam |
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Battery | Enhanced Battery |
Trait | Paracausal Imbuement |
Shock | Hand-Laid Stock |
Catalyst | Microcosm Catalyst |
The Microcosm destroys enemy shields in any situation, whether in PvP or PvE.
While the weapon doesn’t have customization options right now, its standard loadout makes it a niche pick for Crucible runs, bossfights and Public Events.

Hammer-Forged Rifling lets you mow down enemy shields from a safe distance while getting a lot of accuracy from its stock.
The Microcosm god roll also builds up Super Energy fast while getting more damage post-Super with Imbuement, making it good at shredding enemy defenses.
Destiny 2 Microcosm in PvP
This weapon wouldn’t perform well in PvP due to relatively low DPS. The meta favors teleporting Warlocks and one-hit rifles after all.
However, its sustained beam would do wonders in Public Events and high-difficulty bossfights, especially in future episodes.

Disclaimer: the Microcosm god roll reflects the most popular (not “best”) loadouts in Destiny 2. So if using Trace rifles and building your Super is your playstyle, use the Microcosm as you wish.
It’s one of the most fun additions to The Final Shape and opens up more possibilities for Destiny 2’s future weapon types.
