The Prismatic is unlike anything Bungie has ever brought to Destiny 2 and it has the potential to break the game in a good way. It’s a gateway to a new era of Destiny, where buildcrafting will become more flexible than ever. But what exactly is Prismatic in Destiny 2, and what does it offer?
In this guide, we explain everything you need to know about new Destiny Prismatic subclass.
What is Prismatic in Destiny 2 The Final Shape?
Simply put, Prismatic in Destiny 2 is a new subclass that combines the abilities of all the existing Light and Dark subclasses. With Prismatic, players can mix and match abilities, aspects, and fragments of a light subclass and a dark subclass to create an incredibly unique and powerful build.
However, players can’t combine every ability of light and dark subclasses. Only certain aspects, fragments, super, grenade, melee, and class abilities of each subclass will be available to use.
According to Bungie, these are the most underutilized abilities of Destiny 2, and Prismatic is a way to breathe new life into them.
As mentioned previously, Prismatic will open up advanced ways to craft your build. One of the ways it does that is by providing players with more slots for aspects and fragments.
Prismatic also adds a new ability bar below super. The new bar is divided into the light and darkness bars. When players use light class abilities, the light bar will start to fill, whereas using darkness class abilities will fill up the darkness bar.
Dealing kinetic damage will also slowly fill up the Prismatic bar. Once both sides of the bar are full, players will become transcendent.
Transcendence is a mini super ability, during which players’ grenade and melee abilities will be refreshed. Weapon damage and damage resistance will also be increased.
Moreover, dealing damage with a grenade will recharge one’s melee ability, whereas dealing damage with melee ability will refill one’s grenade bar.
Lastly, players will gain a new grenade ability while in the Transcendent state. There’s one for each subclass and it inflicts light and darkness damage.
