How to unlock Specimen ID NES001 quest in Destiny 2
In Destiny 2, you can unlock the Specimen ID NES001 quest by progressing to the new Episode Echoes questline.
Right after you complete Failsafe’s quest A Rising Chorus: Act I on Nessus and head back and talk to Failsafe at H.E.L.M, after a short time, you will be able to start Specimen ID NES001 quest from there.
Destiny 2 Specimen ID NES001 quest walkthrough
The first step to Specimen ID NES001 quest requires players to “Deposit collected samples at Failsafe’s Radiolite Bay in the H.E.L.M.” Since you start the quest in H.E.L.M, you can head to Failsafe and on the left side while facing her, you will find the Radiolite Bay.
Deposit the data to unlock the second step, which requires you to talk to Failsafe to obtain the Planetary Piston Hammer. Once you do that, you unlock the third step, which gives you two objectives:
- Extracted Data – 0%
- Planetary Assimilation Pistons activated – 0/1
Most players get stuck here, as there’s no clear description of how to complete the above objectives. Moreover, some players who complete the first objective of extracting data fail to activate the Planetary Assimilation Piston.
To complete the above objectives, you must start the Arena: Breach Executable from H.E.L.M. Completing it will automatically complete the “Extracted Data” objective.
But for the Planetary Assimilation Piston, you must locate one during your run and interact with it to use the Planetary Piston Hammer to destroy it. It is easy to find as the objective icon with a star within it appears on the Piston, which seems like one of the flux light pillars you find around Nessus.
Still, if you are finding it hard to find and activate the Planetary Assimilation Pistons, check out our dedicated guide. Once you complete the third step, the fourth step requires you to head back to H.E.L.M. and talk to Failsafe to obtain the Seized Radiolite Incubator.
After obtaining the Seized Radiolite Incubator, you must display it on H.E.L.M. by placing it on the shelf. Doing so will complete the Specimen ID NES001 quest in Destiny 2.
That concludes our Destiny 2 Specimen ID NES001 quest walkthrough.
