The Call is a new destination weapon in Destiny 2 The Final Shape. It’s the second rocket-assisted frame-type sidearm weapon that can deal massive amounts of Strand explosion damage.

The Call is easily one of the most feel-good sidearms currently available in Destiny 2 that can easily annihilate ads and most yellow-bar enemies in the game with the appropriate roll.

If you want to add the best version of The Call to your Destiny 2 arsenal, you have come to the right place. In this ONE Esports guide, we explain our pick for The Call god roll in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 The Call PvE god roll explained

PERK TYPE PERK DESCRIPTION
Barrel Quick Launch: Greatly increases handling speed. Increases projectile speed.
Magazine High Velocity Rounds: Increases projectile speed. Increases reload speed.
Trait 1Lead From Gold: Picking up heavy ammo also grants ammo to this weapon.
Trait 2Desperate Measures: Weapon final blows grant bonus damage. Melee and grenade final blows grant a larger damage boost that can stack.
Or,
Multikill Clip: Reloading grants increased damage based on the number of rapid final blows made beforehand.
Masterwork Range
Origin TraitDealer’s Choice: Final blows with this weapon grants a small amount of Super energy. Equipping multiple weapons from the Pale Heart increases this effect.

The Barrel and the Magazines are quite self-explanatory. Hand Cannons (particularly The Call due to its high recoil) need better handling, as well as, reload speed, and Quick Launch and High Velocity perks could get you that.

The Call’s biggest and arguably the only notable weakness is that it uses Special ammo. Hence, we recommend Lead from Gold for the first column perk, as it can get you special ammo every time you pick up heavy ammo.

Lead from Gold is a game-changer in boss encounters, especially when you have the heavy ammo finder equipped. We recently tested this in the final battle of the Iconoclasm mission and walked away pretty impressed. As such, we recommend getting this perk over everything else.

For the second column perk, we recommend going with either Desperate Measures or Multikill Clip. As mentioned above, The Call is an incredibly powerful weapon, but it can become even more powerful with these damage-boosting perks.

Desperate Measures is pretty straightforward. You can get a weapon damage boost for final blows. Additionally, melee and grenade final blows can also get you a stacking damage boost.

Multikill Clip requires more attention. For this, you have to reload the weapon after rapid final blows. The more final blows you make before reloading The Call, the more the damage boosts.

You could go for either because the overall damage boost is roughly the same. However, if you’re someone like us who likes to reload their weapon after every two or three rounds, the latter could work pretty well.

For Masterwork, we recommend range because The Call’s base range is lower than its other three attributes. You miss all the shots you don’t take, but with The Call, there’s a high chance to miss the ones you do take if you don’t get the range up.

PERK TYPE PERK DESCRIPTION
Barrel Quick Launch: Greatly increases handling speed. Increases projectile speed.
Magazine High Velocity Rounds: Increases projectile speed. Increases reload speed.
Trait 1Beacon Rounds: Final blows with this weapon grant you projectile tracking.
Trait 2Adrenaline Junkie: This weapon gains increased damage and handling from final blows with grenades or this weapon.
Or,
Desperate Measures: Weapon final blows grant bonus damage. Melee and grenade final blows grant a larger damage boost that can stack.
Masterwork Range
Origin TraitDealer’s Choice: Final blows with this weapon grants a small amount of Super energy. Equipping multiple weapons from the Pale Heart increases this effect.

The Call isn’t a great weapon for PvP, mainly because it requires special rounds but also because its range is awful.

That said, you could still take The Call for a spin in Crucible.

For Barrel and Magazine, we recommend Quick Launch and High Velocity.

How to get the Final Warning catalyst in Destiny 2

As for the first column perk, we recommend Beacon Rounds, as it provides projectile tracking. It’s not as substantial as the Tracking Module in Rockets, but it’s better than nothing.

For the second column perk, you could go with either Adrenaline Junkie or Desperate Measures. Both grant weapon damage boost, but the former also improves weapon handling, so you may want to go with that unless you plan to use your melee and grenade abilities a lot.

Lastly, for Masterwork, we recommend range for obvious reasons. And that sums up our The Call god roll in Destiny 2.
