What is cross platform?
This feature describes the ability of players using different platforms, like PC or console, to play with each other simultaneously.
Is Diablo 4 cross platform?
Blizzard Entertainment has stated on its support page the game will have cross-play and cross-progression.
Cross-play lets you add friends from different platforms, allowing you to play together. For instance, if you’re on PC and your friend is on console, you can add each other and play as a team.
Cross-progression lets you play the game on PC or console while retaining progress and collections across devices. For example, items you unlock while playing on PC will be carried over when you switch to Xbox or PlayStation.
However, it doesn’t mean you can buy a game once and play it on any platform. You still need to purchase the game for each platform separately.
Is Diablo 4 online only?
The game does not have an offline mode, which means you must be connected to the Battle.net servers to play the game.
