Count Ymir is one of the most iconic and ambitious NPCs we got with Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. As you may know, almost every NPC in the game has its questline, and Count Ymir and his trusted bodyguard, Jolan, are no exception.
Ymir’s quest is one of the most significant and rewarding NPC quests in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. There are many sections where players get stuck, and some players don’t even know how to reach Ymir and Jolan’s location and start their questline.

Elden Ring Count Ymir and Jolan locations
In Elden Ring, you can find Count Ymir and Jolan in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, located south of the Church District Highroad Site of Grace in the Scadu Altus region.
How to reach the Cathedral of Manus Metyr in Elden Ring
To reach the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, you must teleport to the Moorth Ruins and, from there, follow the road towards the south until you reach a massive hole in the ground.
Drop down and keep moving until you find a ladder to the Bonny Village Site of Grace. From there, follow the main path, cross the broken bridge to the other side of the village, and keep following the main path towards the wooden suspension bridge.
Right past the bridge, you will find the Bridge Leading to the Village Site of Grace. From there, follow the main road, and you will reach a cross-section right next to the Church District Highroad Site of Grace.
From there, follow the main road towards the southwest, and you will eventually reach the Cathedral of Manus Metyr.
Elden Ring Count Ymir questline walkthrough
Here is a complete walkthrough of Ymir and Jolan’s questline in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC:
- Head inside the Cathedral of Manus Metyr
- Talk to Count Ymir and exhaust his dialogues until you get Hole-Laden Necklace and Ruins Map
- Talk to Ymir again to access his shop menu (Optional)
- While exiting the room, look for Jolan leading on the pillar towards the path leading to the graveyard
- Talk to Jolan and exhaust her dialogues.
- Head to Finger Ruins of Rhia and sound the bell
- Return to the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and talk to Ymir to receive Ruins Map (2nd) and Beloved Stardust
- Talk to Jolan and exhaust her dialogues
- Head to Finger Ruins of Dheo in Scaduview and sound the second bell
- Return to the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and talk to Ymir to receive the Ruins Map (3rd)
- Talk to Jolan and exhaust her dialogues once again
- Head to the Finger Ruins of Miyr and sound the third bell
- Defeat Metyr, Mother of Fingers
- Teleport back to Cathedral of Manus Metyr Site of Grace and interact with Ymir’s throne
- Defeat Jolan
- Defeat Ymir
- Reload the area, talk to Jolan near the pillar and choose between Iris of Grace or Iris of Occultation
Assuming you have followed the guide, you must have already reached the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, talked to Count Ymir and Jolan and got the Hole-Laden Necklace and Ruins Map. This means you are at step 6.
Elden Ring Finger Ruins of Rhia location and how to reach there
The Finger Ruins of Rhia is between the Cerulean Coast and the Jagged Peak area. To reach there, first head to the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace and make your way to the Cerulean Coast Cross Site of Grace located south of it.

That being said, from Cerulean Coast Cross Site of Grace, while facing towards Miquella’s cross, turn right and keep moving straight until you reach the area shown in the screenshot below.
From there, drop down and follow the coast until you reach the end of it. Once that happens, follow the path on the left, and it will lead you to the Finger Ruins of Rhia Site of Grace.
Now, follow the main path or stick towards the left or right side to avoid enemies and reach the central area with a bell that looks like a finger pointing downwards. Interact with it to sound the bell and receive Crimson Seed Talisman +1.
Elden Ring Finger Ruins of Dheo location and how to reach there
To reach the Finger Ruins of Dheo, you must follow the main road towards the east from the Hinterland Site of Grace. You can reach Hinterland through the secret path that opens after using the “O Mother” Gesture in front of the Statue of Marika near the Shadow Keep, Back Gate Site of Grace.

Assuming you followed the guide and have unlocked the Hinterland Site of Grace, head east until you reach the Fingerstone Hill Site of Grace.
From there, head south, and you will reach the Finger Ruins of Dheo and eventually the second bell. Interact with it to obtain Cerulean Seed Talisman +1.
Elden Ring Finger Ruins of Miyr location and how to reach there
The Finger Ruins of Miyr is located in the depths of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. You can reach there by interacting with Count Ymir’s throne after receiving the third Ruin Map and reloading the area by teleporting to the Cathedral of Manus Metyr Site of Grace.
Once you reload the area, head to Ymir’s throne and interact with it to open a path. Use the ladder to head down towards the Finger Ruins of Miyr.
In the Finger Ruins of Miyr, you will get invaded by the Sword Hand of Night Anna. Defeat her to obtain the Claws of Night weapon and follow the main path to the third bell.
As soon as you blow the third bell, you will get teleported to Metyr, Mother of Fingers boss arena.
Choose between Iris of Grace or Iris of Occultation
