Nexon Games’ free-to-play looter-shooter, The First Descendant, has launched across all platforms but not without its share of launch day issues.
Like most live-service game releases, The First Descendant is plagued with network errors and other technical issues. There’s one where you get stuck in the loading screen forever without any explanation.

As of this writing, there’s no concrete way to fix the stuck on loading screen error in The First Descendant.
While this is unfortunate, Nexon Games has publically acknowledged the issue and is working to identify the problem and deploy a fix.
As suggested by Nexon Games, this seems like a server-side issue and not something from your side. Still, it’s always best to check for game updates and restart your router just to be on the safe side.
Aside from the The First Descendant stuck on loading screen error, several other issues have plagued The First Descendant’s launch. Some players have reported not receiving the Twitch drops, whereas others have problems claiming the beta rewards.
Fortunately, Nexon Games is working on a fix and has also prepared compensation for all players, even the ones who didn’t face any issues.
These compensation rewards include:
- Gold Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
- Kyper Shard Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
- Descendant EXP Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
- Weapon Mastery EXP Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
- 2 x Matte Red Paints
You can claim these items from the mailbox. Please note that you have to log in to the game before 7 July to get these rewards. The compensation rewards will disappear from your mailbox on 14 July.
