Gathering a feather is one of the many quests you will encounter in Destiny 2, which is essentially a part of the seasonal challenge called “Birds of a Feather.”
As the name suggests, your primary objective is to find and collect a special feather in the Pale Heart region.
However, as is tradition, the game doesn’t mention its exact location, which is why many Destiny 2 players are flocking to the internet to find a solution.
With that said, we’ll walk you through all the steps to complete the “Gather a feather in Pale Heart” challenge in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.

Where to gather a feather in Pale Heart region — Feather locations Destiny 2
Simply put, we were able to locate a feather on the top of a massive rock, specifically in the underground caves of The Refraction in Destiny 2. We’ve also marked the exact location in the above image for your convenience.
However, finding it is not as easy as it sounds because the Pale Heart region is locked by default when you install The Final Shape expansion.
How to unlock Pale Heart in Destiny 2 The Final Shape
The only way to unlock the Pale Heart area is by completing the first seven campaign missions of Destiny 2 The Final Shape DLC:
- Mission 1: Transmigration
- Mission 2: Temptation
- Mission 3: Exegesis
- Mission 4: Requiem
- Mission 5: Ascent
- Mission 6: Dissent
- Mission 7: Iconoclasm
You will need approximately 12 hours to complete all the missions. Once done, all you need to do is scour the area and talk to Micah-10 NPC. After a short cutscene, the Pale Heart should be unlocked for you.
Fortunately, there are 55 feathers scattered throughout the Destiny 2 The Final Shape map, with many of them appearing in the Pale Heart region.
After completing the primary objective, the challenge will be marked as completed and you will be rewarded with 136 Enhancement Core and XP for your efforts.
