Guardian Druids are a relatively easy tanking class and are expected to be a solid choice for both Mythic Plus and Raids in World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, The War Within.

Playstyle explained
How you play will largely depend on the Hero Talent build you choose.
In our guide, we’ll focus on the Elune’s Chosen build, which is the simpler of the two and recommended for players new to the spec. This build follows a default playstyle with the addition of Lunar Beam.
Like many other classes, Guardian Druids have abilities that generate resources—in this case, Rage—which allow you to use powerful offensive or defensive abilities as resource spenders.
Abilities like Mangle and Thrash should be used on cooldown to generate resources, while Raze serves as your primary offensive resource spender and Ironfur as your defensive one.
Opting for the Elune’s Chosen build won’t significantly alter your default playstyle, but you’ll gain an additional one-minute offensive cooldown: Lunar Beam. This ability spawns a beam at your location that increases your Mastery, deals Arcane damage, and heals you over eight seconds.
Hero Talents explained
As mentioned earlier, we’ll be choosing the Elune’s Chosen build for its simplicity. This build enhances your Arcane damage abilities by increasing their damage, generating Rage, or buffing other abilities with Arcane effects.
You’ll also gain a new passive, Fury of Elune, which calls down a beam of light on your target, dealing damage in the area and generating Rage.
Overall, this build doesn’t add complexity to the playstyle but remains a competitive choice for all available content in World of Warcraft.
The Druid of the Claw Hero build, on the other hand, may require advanced knowledge and experience with Druids, as it involves weaving abilities into your rotation that require quick shifts into Cat Form and back. This can be challenging and requires practice to master, making it less suitable for players new to the class.
