Supergiant Games shadow-dropped Hades 2’s early access version on 6 May 2024, just a few weeks after its incredibly well-received technical test.
Hades 2, even in its early access state, has 50+ hours of content to offer, but if you’re hesitant to pay for an unfinished game, you may want to wait until the launch of the game’s version 1.0.
In this guide, we explain how long Hades 2 early access could be and receive a full-fledged Hades 2 release date.
When does Hades 2 early access end? Hades 2 release date details
Hades 2 will remain in early access until at least the end of 2024, meaning you shouldn’t expect the game’s version 1.0 update to arrive until early 2025.
Supergiant Games confirmed Hades 2’s early access status in an in-game note, which you can read right after booting up Hades 2 for the first time.
According to it, “We [Supergiant Games] expect [Hades 2] to be in Early Access at least through the end of 2024. It’s too early to say when our v1.0 launch will be until we have a good feel for Early Access development.”
To put things into perspective, Hades 1 remained in early access for almost two years. Its early access version was first released on the Epic Games Store on 6 December 2018, whereas its version 1.0 was first released for PC and Switch on 17 September 2020.
However, we don’t expect Hades 2 to remain in early access for 2 years simply because the game is surprisingly polished in its current state with multiple regions to explore, characters to meet, and builds to craft.
It’s absurd how even in its early access state, Hades 2 has more to offer than many full-fledged modern AAA game releases.
As such, Hades 2 will probably not spend more than a few months in early access, with a version 1.0 release likely to happen sooner rather than later.
