If you want to craft some Portals or a Convertor in Satisfactory 1.0, you need the super rare Reanimated SAM item you can only make if you have SAM Ores, aka Strange Alien Metal Ores.

The SAM Ores are very hard to locate, which brings us to our guide, sharing all SAM Ore locations in Satisfactory 1.0.

Where to find SAM Ores in Satisfactory 1.0

In Satisfactory 1.0, there are a total of 19 SAM Ore nodes that you can find around the game’s map. Of the 19, ten are Impure nodes, six are Normal nodes, and three are Pure nodes, the latter offering the most SAM Ores.

While Impure SAM Ore nodes are not the best way to get a ton of SAM Ores fast, if you are around, you can still collect them from the above-marked locations.

In Satisfactory 1.0, you can use SAM Ores to craft Reanimated SAM at an automated Constructor or the manual Crafting Bench. To produce a single Reanimated SAM, you need four SAM Ores.

Once you reach Tier 9 Milestones, you can use the produced Reanimated SAM to craft Portals and Convertor. Portals come in handy as you can build two Portals anywhere on the map and link them to travel between them freely.

On the other hand, Convertor comes in handy when crafting items using different ores than the regular ones, opening a new path to crafting items.
