Lockpicking in Star Wars Outlaws is a rhythm-based mini-game in which you must replicate the audio or visual pattern of the beep to crack the code. Carefully examine the beep pattern and press the button at appropriate times to match its pattern.
You can also look at it as a QTE, in which you press the button every time you hear the beep or when the light glows on the right side of the lock.
Most early game locks in Star Wars have a two-beep pattern, but as you head into mid-to-late game areas, you will start to encounter three to four-beep patterns which are relatively tough to crack.
If you have trouble hearing the beep, you could focus on the light instead. There are two lights on the lock. The one on the top is the one you have to replicate. The one on the bottom will light up when you press the button.
And that’s all there is to lockpicking in Star Wars Outlaws. You can also change the lockpicking difficulty from the Motor Preset section of the Accessibility setting, so that’s always an option if you struggle with it. Conversely, you can increase its difficulty in case you want more challenge.
