You’ll need a lot of ingots in Palworld, as they are used to create pretty much every metal-related item from mid-to-late game.
Palworld is a survival, Pokemon-inspired game where you send “Pals” to battle, use them to maintain and build bases, and even build machine guns. Seriously.

So, it’s no surprise that ingots in Palworld are a crucial commodity that you’ll need to farm, so that your pals can blast away.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to farm ingots in Palworld early game
To farm ingots in Palworld, you’ll need to:

- Reach at least level 10 to research the “Primitive Furnace” technology.
- Find an area with plenty of ore deposits (3 or more).
- Build a base that includes a Primitive Furnace and basic necessities for your Pals.
- Capture Pals with Level 2 Mining, Transporting, and Kindling Work Suitability skills and station them at your farming base.
Note that in most cases, your ingot farm will be your second base, which you can establish once you reach Base Level 10. However, to achieve this, you need to be at least level 15.
Find an area with ore deposits
Ores are refined into ingots, and you’ll need to mine a ton of them.
Ore deposits are everywhere in Palworld. If you ever run into an area with plenty of ore deposits, ideally located in a large, flat area with other resources, it’s probably a good idea to set up a base there.
If you can’t find a suitable place, there’s one southwest of Small Settlement.
To get there, you’ll need to jump down a cliff and swim across to another island. Alternatively, you can cross the large bridge above, but it might take a bit longer.
Build a base with a Primitive Furnace, along with other basic necessities for your Pals
Once you have found a suitable place and have researched the “Primitive Furnace” technology, you can start farming ingots in Palworld.

To start an ingot farm, at a minimum, this is what you’ll need
Primitive Furnace (Level 10 technology)
- This is essential for refining ores into ingots.
- To build one, you’ll need 20 Wood, 50 Stones, and 3 Flame Organs.
- Similar to farming Pal Fluids in Palworld, you’ll need to obtain certain items from specific Pals. For Flame Organs, you must farm Fire-type Pals, such as Foxparks.
Straw Pal Beds (Level 3 technology)
- You’ll need enough beds for your Pals to sleep on. Make sure you have one for each of the Pals working in your ingot farm.
- You’ll need 10 Wood and 5 Fiber per bed.
Hot Spring (Level 9 technology)
- A Hot Spring will help your Pals avoid losing sanity. If their sanity drops too low, they will refuse to work altogether.
- To build one, you’ll need 30 Wood, 15 Stones, 10 Paldium Fragments, and 10 Pal Fluids.

Wooden Chest (Level 2 technology)
- A Wooden Chest is helpful for organizing your ores and ingots in Palworld, so you don’t have to run around to gather them.
- Also, any materials inside a Wooden Chest are considered part of your inventory, so you don’t need to carry them around to build or create something while inside your base.
- You’ll need 15 Wood and 5 Stones to build one.
You may also want
- A Feed Box is useful if you don’t want to individually feed Pals. They will automatically eat food from the Feed Box whenever they are hungry. It costs 20 Wood to build.
- A food farm, like a Berry Plantation, so you don’t have to manually put food in the Feed Box. You’ll need 3 Berry Seeds, 20 Wood, and 20 Stones to build one. You will also need Pals with Planting, Watering, Farming, and Gathering Work Suitabilities.
You can also build workbenches, repair bench, or anything that you may need for your own convenience — especially if you don’t want to travel back and forth between your first base and your farm, especially if your farm is the second base.
Capture Pals with Mining, Transporting, and Kindling Work Suitability
Now that you have your base setup, it’s time to send Pals to work.
However, you can’t just capture and put any Pals in the base to get your ingot farm going. Each of the Pals has their own unique Work Suitability that allows them to do certain tasks in the base.
For your ingot farm, you’ll need Pals with at least Level 2 Mining, Transporting, and Kindling Work Suitability.
You can find Work Suitability on the bottom right side of your Paldeck.
For early game, the best Pals to work inside your ingot farms are Tombats and Foxsparks. But, you may send any other Pals as long as they have the necessary Work Suitabilities.
Tombats have Level 2 Mining and Transporting Work Suitability which will allow them to mine and transport your ores and ingots inside your Wooden Chest.
However, finding Tombats might be a bit tricky as they are harder to come by and may require a stroke of luck. They usually roam around Grassy Behemoth Hills and its surrounding areas at night.
You’ll also find Foxsparks in the same area during the day, and you’ll want them for their Kindling Work Suitability, which is needed to operate Primitive Furnaces for refining your ores into ingots.
Note that your ores do disappear as they are mined, but reappear periodically, allowing you to farm continuously.
Once you have built your base and captured enough Pals to get ingots in Palworld, you won’t need to do anything else.
You are free to go about your adventures and come back occasionally to pick up ingots for whatever needs you may have.
