If you are wondering how to fast travel in STALKER 2, we’ve got that covered for you. Considering how vast Heart of Chornobyl’s open-world is, fast traveling will ultimately be a crucial feature for looting and switching between areas discovered already.
However, unlike other games, STALKER 2 requires money to fast travel each time and the feature doesn’t come unlocked right off the bat.
How to unlock fast travel in STALKER 2
Fast travel in STALKER 2 unlock only after reaching the second major settlement. The feature is limited to major settlements only and restricts you from traveling between any two places at an instant.
On the map, you can locate a fast travel point by looking for an icon that resembles a crosshair – two concentric circles and four pins on the top, bottom, left, and right.
After discovering a major settlement, look for a Guide (an NPC) and speak to them, they will give you the option for quick travel. You will get the option of fast travel provided you’ve already spoken to the Guides of the other discovered settlements.
Using the feature comes at a cost. You will need to spend anywhere between 500 to 4,000 coupons (STALKER 2’s in-game currency) to fast travel.
The more the distance between two settlements, the higher the amount of coupons you will need to pay the guide. So, we would suggest not to use the feature for settlements that are nearby, and rely on ground traversal instead.
Can you lose fast travel access in STALKER 2?
Yes, there’s a chance of losing access to fast travel but that depends on a few factors. If an area is attacked where the objective is to eliminate the Guide, then you would lose fast travel access to that settlement.
On the other hand, Guides can also disappear from a place temporarily when that location gets attacked. They return after a while but in the meantime, you can’t escape or get out of the facility.
