Unfortunately, the playtest remains highly exclusive, with no guaranteed way to gain access. Nonetheless, the interest is high, with the player count peaking at 90,000 on August 25.

Wondering where all these players are coming from? It’s actually quite straightforward. If you have the right connections, you might also be able to get access to Deadlock.

Here’s how to get access to Deadlock playtest

Currently, there are two ways to get access to Deadlock: get a direct invite from Valve or get an invite from a friend who already owns the game.

The former is less likely to happen since the criteria to get selected for the closed beta is unknown. However, if you have resourceful friends, you may be in luck because that’s the only way that’s most likely to get you into the playtest.

Those with early access to the game can invite up to one friend. So, if you see the Steam pop-up notifying you about a friend playing Deadlock, it’s worth asking for an invite.

Once Valve has approved their invite, you’ll receive an email asking you to accept the invitation. After that, simply install the game and enjoy playing.
