Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia and A24 announced plans for an Elden Ring movie.
It will be a live-action film adaptation of FromSoftware Inc.’s critically acclaimed video game, helmed by Alex Garland. He is known for his work on films such as Ex Machina, Civil War, and Warfare, and will serve as both writer and director.

The film will be produced by Peter Rice, with Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich from DNA also on board.

Notably, George R. R. Martin and Vince Gerardis will serve as producers, ensuring a faithful and compelling adaptation of the beloved game.
Elden Ring the game was originally brought to life under the direction of FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, with its rich mythological backstory crafted by George R. R. Martin, the celebrated author of “A Song of Ice and Fire.” This cinematic endeavor aims to translate the game’s epic scope and intense action to the big screen.

A collaborative effort between FromSoftware’s renowned development prowess and Bandai Namco Entertainment’s extensive global marketing network, Elden Ring launched on February 25, 2022, and has since shipped over 30 million units worldwide.
Building on this success, a new co-operative action game, Elden Ring Nightreign, releases on Friday, May 30, 2025. While incorporating familiar elements like weapons and enemies from the original, Nightreign offers a fresh gameplay experience, redesigned for cooperative play.
Players will select from a diverse roster of unique characters to confront an entirely new threat, promising a compelling evolution of the Elden Ring universe.
