While it’s hard to get rid of your favorite under-leveled magic gear after a certain period of time, thankfully, you can use Regal Orbs to upgrade them into rare items.
In PoE 2, rare items can hold up to six affixes and are the best rarity type outside of Uniques, which are pretty scarce in early access.

Best ways to farm Regal Orbs in Path of Exile 2
Regal Orbs are pretty hard to come by. They don’t start dropping until you have reached Act 2 of PoE 2’s campaign.
Like Exalted Orbs, mobs, elite, and bosses have the best chances of dropping Regal Orbs in Path of Exile 2.
They can also drop Regal Shards. Collecting ten of these will get you a Regal Orb.
If you have low-level rare items, you can disenchant them at one of three vendors in the game. Doing so can also get you Regal Shards.
As of this writing, RNG is pretty broken in Path of Exile 2 early access, whether it comes to Uniques or currencies.
Hence, it’s best to be patient and take your time with the game, as Grinding Gear Games could optimize the experience with subsequent patches.
That said, Poor RNG could just be a way to encourage trading, which was a huge aspect of the original.
