In PoE 2, you have access to two different weapon loadouts, and using both effectively is essential to survive some of the toughest late-game encounters.

How to swap weapons in Path of Exile 2

To swap weapons in Path of Exile 2, you must first equip a secondary weapon in your inventory.

Thankfully, it’s quite easy to do. On the left side of your primary weapon, you will notice a smaller weapon slot denoted by a Roman numeral two. Simply pick the weapon of your choice and equip it in this slot.

However, simply equipping a primary and a secondary weapon won’t allow you to swap between the two during combat.

For this, head to the Skill section and open the Bind Screen. Here, you will find the option to add a skill called “Toggle Weapon Set.” Assign it to the shortcut of your choice. And that’s pretty much there is to it!

If you assign the Toggle Weapon set in the Secondary Skill set, swap it in real-time by pressing LT/L2, and you can see it in the action bar.

You have to use the Toggle Weapon set skill every time you want to switch weapons in Path of Exile 2.

Thankfully, there’s also a way to switch weapons automatically in PoE 2.

For this, select a skill and go to “Skill Options.” Here, you will find the option to assign a skill to a particular weapon set.

For instance, if you assign Ice Nova to weapon set 2, every time you use that skill, your character will automatically swap to the secondary weapon.

Assigning skills to a particular weapon set is quite effective for certain builds. For instance, if you have equipped a fire staff in the secondary slot that boosts fire damage, it’s best to assign first-related skills to this weapon set.
