Yes, Geralt will be in The Witcher 4, though it’s unclear to what extent.

Speaking to IGN after the big reveal at The Game Awards 2024, CDPR confirmed that Geralt will appear in The Witcher 4, followed by a “but we don’t want to spoil his role precisely.”

At the end reveal cinematic trailer, you can hear Doug Cockle, the English voice of Geralt, say, “Time for a new saga. See you on the path.”

When speaking to IGN, CDPR confirmed that it’s indeed Doug Cockle’s voice in the trailer.

As mentioned above, it’s unclear in what capacity Geralt would appear in the new game. However, the reveal trailer suggests he will be a guiding figure to Ciri as she slays monsters, makes difficult choices, and eventually learns to be a Witcher.

However, this is pure speculation on our behalf, so take this info with a grain of salt.

CDPR’s statement also didn’t confirm if Geralt will appear directly in the game or via flashback or dream segments, though the latter makes more sense.

Warning: Story spoilers for The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion ahead

In case you didn’t know, Geralt happily retires at the end of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion, settling down amidst the vineyards of Toussaint in an estate called Corvo Bianco.

In other words, Geralt’s story concluded in The Witcher 3, and it makes little sense for him to go on adventures with his surrogate daughter in The Witcher 4.
