The modern-age MOBA Smite 2 is finally out of closed beta. Those who weren’t part of the testing phase might be wondering if Smite 2 is free to play.
For those uninitiated in the MOBA genre, Smite was originally released in 2014 and has since built a strong reputation among its fans. While the MOBA scene remains dominated by League of Legends and Dota 2, Hi-Rez’s new title may be the game to break the monotony, thanks to its new Unreal Engine 5 facelift.
After an initial launch on August 24, which allowed players to dip their toes into the world of Gods, the game is now available for all.
On January 14, Titan Forge Games opened access to Smite 2 for all, with excellent news for thrifty players.
Is Smite 2 free to play?
Smite 2 is free to play for players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
Smite 2’s closed beta was available for those who bought the Founder’s Edition, making it highly exclusive during the testing phase. Now that it looks much cleaner and plays smoothly, Titan Forge has opened access for all. Players can enjoy the game by simply downloading it from the Epic Games Store or Steam.
While this is great news for those who have never played the game, closed beta testers will be pleased to hear that the developer has introduced five new Gods to the game. Among them is the addition of the brand-new character, Aladdin.
True to the character’s lore and backstory, Aladdin grants you the ability to come back to life instantly using one of the three wishes. He can also run on walls, and his ultimate ability traps enemies in the lamp, where you must face them in battle.
All of this is now available free of cost across all major gaming platforms and devices, including Steam Deck. So there you have it, jump in when you’re ready!
